Job Description

We are seeking Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across Primary and Secondary settings. Unlike a general assistant, your role is focused on learning outcomes - identifying where a student is struggling and providing the specific scaffolding, tools, and encouragement they need to succeed.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead small group interventions in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Teach students how to learn (organisation, memory techniques, confidence-building)
  • Differentiating resources (creating simplified worksheets, visual aids, word banks)
  • Small group leadership (breakout sessions for 3-5 students)
  • Promoting independence using 'scaffold and fade' technique
  • Progress tracking (maintain clear records of student breakthroughs and hurdles)

Requirements

  • Academically confident: strong GCSEs (especially in English and Maths) and ability to explain academic concepts clearly and creatively
  • Proactive: can spot a struggling student and move in to offer support
  • Relevant experience: university tutoring, coaching, or previous school work
  • Committed: holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) and 100% dedicated to Safeguarding
