Job Description

We are seeking Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across Primary and Secondary settings. Unlike a general assistant, your role is focused on learning outcomes-identifying where a student is struggling and providing the specific scaffolding, tools, and encouragement they need to succeed.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead small group interventions in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Teach students how to learn focusing on organisation, memory techniques, and confidence-building
  • Differentiating Resources: re-package lessons with simplified worksheets, visual aids, or word banks
  • Small Group Leadership: guide 3-5 students through tasks
  • Promoting Independence: use scaffold and fade technique
  • Progress Tracking: maintain records of student breakthroughs and hurdles

Requirements

  • Academically Confident: strong GCSEs (especially in English and Maths) and ability to explain academic concepts clearly
  • Proactive: can spot struggling students and offer support
  • Relevant Experience: university tutoring, coaching, or previous school work
  • Committed: holds or willing to apply for enhanced DBS on update service, dedicated to Safeguarding
