A passionate SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) is required to support various temporary roles within a network of specialist schools across the Guildford area. The role involves supporting learners across primary and secondary phases, working on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or leading intervention sessions. The role starts ASAP, with both part-time and full-time hours available. The schools have a strong community ethos, ensuring every child feels valued and supported. Learners are of mixed abilities, including SEN, with around 70+ pupils enrolled at each site. The schools follow a broad and balanced curriculum, and academic attainment is above the national average.
Job Responsibility:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to SEN and mixed-ability learners
Assist with intervention sessions to help learners meet their individual goals
Collaborate with class teachers and SENCO to ensure students are fully supported
Adapt to the individual needs of learners and provide personalised support
Support a positive learning environment in line with the schools' ethos
Help maintain and foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment
Requirements:
Experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, or similar role within education or care
Knowledge of working with SEN learners or mixed-ability groups
Flexibility, resilience, and a positive, can-do attitude
Ability to build relationships quickly with learners and colleagues
Previous experience in schools, nurseries, or care settings is essential
