Job Description:

A supportive infant school in the Barwell area is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil who presents with significant behavioural challenges. This role requires patience, resilience and a calm approach, supporting the child to regulate emotions, follow routines and access learning safely throughout the school day.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with severe behavioural needs
  • Use de‑escalation strategies and consistent behaviour routines
  • Implement personalised behaviour and support plans
  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher and pastoral staff
  • Promote positive engagement and emotional regulation strategies
  • Maintain accurate notes and behaviour records

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs
  • Team Teach training (preferred, but training can be provided)
  • Calm, resilient and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow behaviour plans and safeguarding procedures
  • Enhanced DBS
