Learning Support Assistant – SEND Focus 📍 Bognor Regis, West Sussex 🕘 Full‑time | Long‑term Opportunity | September Start A caring, inclusive and community‑focused primary school in Bognor Regis is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school. This is a rewarding long‑term opportunity within a school that places children’s wellbeing, inclusion and holistic development at the heart of everything they do. The role can be tailored to suit your strengths and experience, with opportunities to work across Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 or mixed year groups. The Role Will Involve: Supporting pupils with additional needs, including learning, communication, emotional or behavioural needs Working 1:1 and in small groups, both in and outside the classroom Helping pupils access learning, routines and expectations within a mainstream setting Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff Contributing to a calm, inclusive and nurturing learning environment This Role Would Suit Someone Who: Has experience supporting children with SEND, autism or SEMH (school, care or personal experience) Is patient, compassionate and resilient Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils Is confident supporting learning while encouraging independence Wants a role where they can make a genuine difference every day Experience within schools is beneficial but not essential — the school is equally keen to hear from candidates with relevant care, youth work or support backgrounds who are keen to work in education.
