Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary setting in Horsham. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in both classroom support and vocational learning.

Job Responsibility

  • Support secondary-age pupils with additional needs in both academic and practical learning environments
  • Assist with the running of the onsite café, a vocational provision managed by the pupils, helping them to build real-world skills and confidence
  • Provide consistent classroom support around café hours, ensuring pupils are fully engaged in their learning and personal development
  • Work closely with teaching staff to promote positive behaviour, independence, and achievement

Requirements

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH, ASC, or additional needs is highly desirable
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable with a genuine passion for helping students thrive
  • Able to balance practical, hands-on tasks with classroom-based support
  • Team player with strong communication skills and a nurturing approach
