Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Hold a Level 5 qualification in Special Educational Needs or be willing to work towards within an agreed timescale
  • Proven track record of working effectively with learners presenting with challenging behaviour
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance a learning experience
  • Have the ability to support the learning of individuals and groups
  • Have experience of working with learners with a range of abilities and support needs
  • Have experience of successful working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrate accurate and timely reporting
  • Demonstrate positive team working
  • Be flexible, pragmatic, nurturing, and learner focused
  • Be non-judgemental
  • Be determined and enthused by challenge
  • Must have excellent attention to detail

  • Support the Senior Positive Support Practitioner in mentoring frontline staff teams
  • Promote the positive well-being of the people who live in services by assisting in the provision of PBS for individuals supported by the organisation
  • Undertake assessments, observations, and behaviour reviews under supervision
  • Co-produce PBS Plans and Wellness Recovery Action Plans with individuals, families and staff teams
  • Assist in the development of interventions aimed to reduce the intensity, frequency and potential of challenging behaviours
  • Collect and report data on behaviour and recovery outcomes and assist with monitoring of interventions and contribute to reflective practice and service delivery
  • Provide day to day guidance to staff teams on the use of PBS and recovery strategies
  • Attend and contribute to service meetings, reviews and multidisciplinary forums as appropriate
