Job Description

Learning Mentor (Alternative Provision) Location: Plymouth Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday Pay Rate: £92.56 - £95.00 per day Are you dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a professional, resilient, and empathetic Learning Mentor to join our alternative provision team in Plymouth. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting students as they navigate their educational journey, helping them re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their true potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 or small group support to young people to help them transition back into a classroom setting
  • Develop and implement personalised approaches to facilitate effective learning, emotional regulation, and academic progress
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive, supportive network
  • Facilitate learning experiences outside the classroom, taking students out into the community for educational development and social enrichment

Requirements

  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Professional approach to working with young people in challenging educational environments
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, adaptable, and solution-focused under pressure
