Job Description:

This ongoing teaching position works closely with Junior School staff and students to support diverse learning needs and promote inclusive education. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring every student can fully engage in MLC’s Curriculum for Learning and Wellbeing, which integrates academic growth with student wellbeing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide targeted support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Lead and facilitate Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings in line with NCCD requirements
  • Liaise regularly with parents and provide ongoing progress updates
  • Maintain accurate student records and data
  • Provide staff with resources and evidence-based strategies to support student learning
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in collaboration with the teaching team
  • Develop a culture of high expectations for all learners
  • Provide feedback via the Continuous Reporting system
  • Use data to monitor student progress and refine teaching practices
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives, meetings, and professional learning
  • Attend Information Evenings and Parent-Teacher-Student conferences
  • Support student wellbeing across all aspects of College life
  • Participate in co-curricular activities, particularly House events
  • Uphold and actively implement the College’s Child Safe Program and reporting obligations

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in student learning and wellbeing
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices
  • Experience using data to inform instruction and maximise student progress
  • Appropriate qualifications and teaching experience in Learning Diversity (Primary)
  • Experience with literacy and numeracy interventions (e.g. MultiLit)
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
  • Commitment to professional growth and reflective practice
  • Alignment with MLC’s values and policies
  • Understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards
  • Right to work in Australia
