Job Description
Simonds Catholic College is seeking an experienced and passionate educator to lead our Learning Diversity team in Semester Two, 2026 with a possibility of ongoing. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is committed to working with young men and to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Working closely with students, families, teachers and Learning Support Officers, the Learning Diversity Coordinator will play a key role in supporting student growth, teacher capacity and whole-school inclusion. The Learning Diversity Coordinator role is currently structured as a 0.5 teaching allocation and 0.5 Position of Leadership allocation. As part of a review of Learning Diversity provision, the College is exploring future structures that strengthen support for students and staff. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to this work and help shape the future direction of Learning Diversity at the College.
Job Responsibility
Lead and coordinate programs that support students with diverse learning needs
Support teachers in implementing effective adjustments and inclusive teaching practices
Oversee all NCCD processes, including the creation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and running of Program Support Groups (PSGs)
Work collaboratively with families and external professionals to support student learning and wellbeing
Lead and support a team of Learning Support Officers and intervention staff
Use student data and evidence-informed practices to guide decision making and improve outcomes
Requirements
Strong commitment to boys' education and the values and ethos of Catholic education, including providing a safe environment for our students
Thorough understanding and adherence to Ministerial Order 1359 on Child Safety, as it pertains to the College's Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, and practices
Commitment to upholding a zero-tolerance attitude towards child abuse and ensuring the provision of a safe and inclusive environment for all students, regardless of background or ability
Understanding of strategies that promote cultural safety, accessibility, and wellbeing for Aboriginal children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disabilities
Candidates must have the relevant rights to work in Australia and hold current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
