As one of our Learning & Development Trainers, you’ll be responsible for supporting the onboarding and ongoing development of our people across both operational teams and head office roles by delivering impactful and memorable training programmes. In addition, you’ll work closely with the Lead Learning & Development Trainer to monitor completion of learning journeys and ensure compliance is met and additional on the job observations and coaching is provided as needed. You’ll report to the Learning & Development Training Delivery Manager, whilst also supporting the Head of Learning & Development. Whilst this role is based in our Head Office in Edinburgh and supports hybrid working, there will be regular weekly travel across our sites throughout Scotland and on occasion across the UK to support onsite initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver engaging and effective training that develops and inspires our people
Training new starts across Operations, Laundry and Head Office positions, following the structured learning journey for that role, providing full training and on the job learning support during probation periods
Ensure all training records are up to date for all people, including workbooks and module completion
Liaise with managers to ensure scheduled reviews are completed, and the manager has all information necessary from the training sessions to support development conversations
Where directed, delivery of training in hotels on key operational projects
Evaluate on the job observations and provide additional ad hoc training as required and liaising with managers on individual development progression
Through collaboration with the L&D content team, act as the SME providing guidance to support the production of visually engaging and informative learning content that supports and promotes our brand guidelines to our operational teams
Requirements:
CIPD qualified or with an organisational development or learning qualification (or equivalent)
Ideally, you’ll possess a coaching qualification
Practised in delivering high quality training to a range of audiences
Knowledge of training and learning cycle and different learning styles
Experience in a hospitality setting, either within operations or in a training capacity
Customer focused mentality with a good commercial mindset
Experience providing support within an HR / learning & development / training capacity
Excellent presentation, organisation, and communication skills
Ability to build relationships at all levels and provide feedback to a variety of stakeholders
Strongly self-motivated, and passionate about hospitality
Ability to problem solve and think decisively
Strong IT skills, proficient user of Microsoft 365
