Job Description

The Learning Content Specialist supports the delivery of live online executive education courses by updating and refining course materials — especially faculty slide decks and course information in the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). This role blends writing, editing, and visual design with strong communication skills to ensure that each course run is polished, accurate, and learner-centered. The ideal candidate will be confident in engaging with faculty and collaborating with cross-functional teams to prepare high-quality course assets.

Job Responsibility

  • Review and update faculty slide decks before each course run, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and visual consistency
  • Collaborate directly with faculty and Instructional Designers (IDs) to integrate new examples, data, or research into presentations
  • Edit and proofread content for grammar, tone, and flow, maintaining a professional and consistent voice
  • Apply design principles in PowerPoint to enhance clarity, readability, and visual appeal
  • Update course information, schedules, and links in the Canvas LMS (training provided if needed)
  • Maintain organized version control and documentation for all course materials
  • Communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with faculty and internal teams to meet deadlines and ensure alignment on course updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in content development, instructional support, or presentation design
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to accuracy and tone
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and familiarity with visual layout principles
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including confidence and professionalism in faculty-facing communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment

Nice to have

Familiarity with the Canvas or other LMSs and accessibility standards for course design
