We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Wealstun, working as a Learning and Skills Worker. This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis working 37 hours per week.
Job Responsibility:
Support teaching cover and annual leave while developing your skills and experience
When covering teaching sessions, you will be paid in accordance with teaching pay scales
Requirements:
Willingness to develop and work towards a Level 5 Certificate in Education
Willingness to develop a subject specialism in Maths or English
Aspiration to progress into a Maths or English Teacher role
At least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
Enthusiasm and commitment to a career in teaching
Have experience of conducting assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups
Have experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities
Proven track record of achieving performance targets
Demonstrate accurate and timely reporting
Demonstrate team working
Have effective communication skills
