Job Description:

Within our distribution center in Winterslag (Genk) you are responsible for coaching the team on lean principles, tools, and techniques to foster a culture of operational excellence within the operations department. You will use root cause analysis and lean process design principles to identify and eliminate waste across the local logistic processes. You will also be involved in the development and optimization of the local logistics processes, supporting the organization in further automation of administrative and logistics processes, identifying possible improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs, and implementing these improvements and projects by working together with managers and specialists.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coach the team on lean principles, tools, and techniques to foster a culture of operational excellence within the operations department
  • Use root cause analysis and lean process design principles to identify and eliminate waste across the local logistic processes
  • The development and optimization of the local logistics processes
  • Supporting the organization in further automation of administrative and logistics processes
  • Identifying possible improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • The implementation of these improvements and projects by working together with managers and specialists
  • Leading or participating in certain projects and working groups
  • Analyzing the logistical processes, writing clear reports & formulating advice in function of productivity, efficiency and cost control
  • Keeping the process documentation up to date (process descriptions, working methods, job descriptions, measurement specifications, training materials,…)

Requirements:

  • A passion for logistics
  • A bachelor or master degree in a logistics direction (eg Logistics Management, Engineering Science-Traffic-Logistics, ...) or an engineering degree
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Experience with a logistics supply chain
  • Strong computer skills (MS Access, MS Excel, MS Visio,…)
  • Have strong formal / informal influencing skills to easily build a network
  • Experience in Lean Management
  • knowledge of the Toyota Production System as a plus
  • Facilitation skills
  • Experienced training skills
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch & English, both in writing and orally
  • You are analytical and have a problem-solving approach
  • You think “outside the box” & can translate complex process descriptions in a simple, understandable way
  • You can communicate clearly and build trust throughout the organization
  • You succeed in creating involvement with stakeholders
