Drive the educational direction of a specialized alternative learning program designed for young people engaged with youth justice or facing complex barriers to education.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and deliver a tailored curriculum that prioritizes literacy and numeracy through evidence-informed, differentiated practice
Lead and mentor a skilled multidisciplinary team, including specialist teachers, youth workers, and family support staff
Develop and maintain vital operational partnerships with youth justice, community agencies, and local stakeholders
Support and drive culturally responsive practices to ensure the program meets the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated teaching and leadership experience
Proven track record in delivering literacy/numeracy programs and supporting young people with complex needs or youth justice involvement
Significant experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Current QCT registration and relevant Education qualifications
Strong relational leadership skills and a passion for trauma-informed, alternative education
