Job Description:

Summerland Farm is seeking a capable and organised Dehusking & Fruit Packing Leading Hand to support the daily operations of our macadamia dehusking facility and fruit packing shed. These are fast-paced post-harvest environments where safety, speed, quality, and strong team leadership are critical.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead a small team across receiving, dehusking, grading, packing, labelling, traceability and general production flow
  • Support employees and seasonal workers
  • Maintain compliance with HARPS, Freshcare and NDIS requirements
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and workflow efficiency are met
  • Flexibility to move between dehusking, fruit packing, and other Summerland Farm business units during weather impacts, breakdowns or off-peak periods

Requirements:

  • Experience in post-harvest processing, fruit packing, food handling, or agricultural production (or other relevant production environments)
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a small team in a high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail for quality grading, hygiene, allergen control and compliance
  • Confidence working around conveyors, graders, hoppers, and light machinery
  • Ability to support and coach a mixed-skill workforce, including supported employees
  • Strong communication, safe work practices, and calm leadership under pressure
  • Flexibility to move between tasks, business units and changing seasonal demands
  • Fit for repetitive work, lifting, standing and working in variable temperatures
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
