Job Description

Join Mineral Resources as a Leading Hand Check-in at our Perth Airport location. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to lead check-in operations while supporting our workforce across various mining sites. As Leading Hand Check-in, you will oversee the smooth operation of our airport check-in processes, ensuring our people travel safely and efficiently to mining operations. You will lead a small team while maintaining ambitious standards of customer service and operational excellence, while also supporting continuous improvement by testing new system features and implementing them into our operation. In this role, you will help develop and update check-in training modules, and you will be responsible for building flights and monitoring schedules within our check-in system to ensure accurate, reliable service delivery.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise and coordinate check-in staff during busy operational periods
  • Consult with Operations Leaders and maintain strong working relationships
  • Implement safety procedures and compliance requirements
  • Resolve passenger issues and manage challenging situations professionally
  • Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs
  • Monitor and build flight schedules into our check-in system
  • Support and mentor the check-in team to ensure they are set up for success

Requirements

  • Previous experience in airport operations, customer service, or similar environment
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and guide team members
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including early starts and weekends
  • Understanding of aviation security and safety requirements preferred
  • Physical fitness for standing, lifting, and moving baggage
  • Ability to fly to remote locations for day trips to support the regional airport teams when required
