Lawes are partnering with a top-tier insurance firm, seeking a Lead Trading Underwriter to join one of their specialist underwriting teams. You’ll drive profitable growth, primarily Mid-Market, in the real estate segment.

Job Responsibility

  • Profitably and consistently underwrite both new and existing business
  • Build and maintain strong trading relationships with a panel of brokers
  • Generate profitable business from the assigned broker panel
  • Lead meetings, presentations, and tender responses with brokers and clients
  • Mentor, train, and develop Senior Underwriters
  • Serve as the referral point for Senior Underwriters within the team
  • Oversee and review underwriting standards and licensing within the team
  • Champion and implement the business strategy and product offerings

Requirements

  • Extensive London Market property/real estate underwriting experience
  • Strong negotiation and sales expertise
  • Proven experience in managing large cases and portfolios within the real estate sector
  • Familiarity with key stakeholders in the London Market real estate industry
  • Well-developed networking and relationship-building abilities
  • In-depth understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements in insurance
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a target-oriented environment
