Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the supervision and management of the classroom in accord with the mission and curriculum of Employee Child Care Center
  • To use education and experience in the field to create a classroom learning environment that is loving and developmentally appropriate and meets the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each individual child

Requirements

  • Teacher qualified in Colorado by one of the following: A Bachelor’s (4 year) degree in one of the following major areas of study: Early Childhood Education, Family and Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, Child Psychology
  • A Bachelor’s (4 year) degree in an area not listed above with two three semester hour Early Childhood Education college courses with one course being either Introduction to Early Childhood Education (ECE 101) or guidance strategies (ECE 103) and at least 910 (6 months) hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual
  • Twelve semester hours in college-level credits in child growth and development and/or early childhood education, which must include either Introduction to early childhood education (ECE 101) or guidance strategies (ECE 103) and at least 1,395 (9 months) hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual
  • An Associate’s (2 year) degree in child development or Early Childhood Education. Sixty semester hours in Early Childhood Education, which must include either Introduction to early childhood education (ECE 101) or guidance strategies (ECE 103) and at least 910 hours (6 months) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual
  • At least 3,640 hours (24 months) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual plus either: a current Colorado Level 1 credential or two three credit college courses with one course being either Introduction to Early Childhood Education (ECE 101) or guidance strategies (ECE 103)
  • Current certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) or certified Child Care Professional (CCP) or other development approved credential
  • Completion of a vocational or occupational education sequence in child growth and development and at least 1,820 hours (12 months) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual
  • Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
