Job Description:

Lead Theatre Practitioner - Recovery & Anaesthetics at The Beardwood Hospital, part of Circle Health Group. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway, acting as a specialist or functional lead within the team
  • Ensure that all patient safety checks, including WHO surgical safety processes, are carried out in accordance with hospital policy
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for theatre practitioners and support staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, compassion, and accountability
  • Support the development and assessment of competencies within the team, promoting continuous professional development
  • Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their rights, safety, and dignity are upheld at all times
  • Raise concerns where standards of care or safeguarding protocols are not met, in line with Circle Health Group policy

Requirements:

  • NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with significant experience in a theatre environment (Recovery & Anaesthetics)
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership experience and ability to act as a role model to peers
  • Strong understanding of patient safety protocols, safeguarding, infection control, and clinical governance
  • Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification [for scrub leads]
  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course
  • Approved / recognised anaesthetic course
