Are you ready to move beyond the traditional classroom? We are seeking visionary educators to join the founding team of a brand-new, state-of-the-art special school scheduled to open in late 2026. This is a rare blank canvas opportunity. You won't just be following a policy; you will be helping to write it. Our mission is to support 72 children and young people (ages 5-19) who have faced challenges in mainstream settings due to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and ASC.
Job Responsibility
Design and deliver a thematic, highly differentiated curriculum
work with a multi-disciplinary team of therapists and specialists
take ownership of a specific curriculum area, mentoring support staff
turn complex presentations into success stories by building deep, empathetic relationships
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
proven track record in Special Schools or specialist SEMH provisions
expertise in thematic teaching
sophisticated understanding of ASC and SEMH, including trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques
Nice to have
Post-graduate qualifications in SEND/Special Education
experience in curriculum design for learners with complex needs
a founding mindset (adaptability, humour, drive to help a new school succeed)
