Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer. The role involves leading broad-impact initiatives, working on large-scale planning for computer systems and network infrastructure, troubleshooting escalated technical challenges, and collaborating with technical teams to resolve issues. Candidates must have a background in systems engineering and application support, strong analytical skills, knowledge of ITIL processes and scripting, and fluency in English. Flexibility to work rotational shifts and experience in relevant technical tools is essential.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead complex, broad-impact initiatives including provision of high-level systems consultation for the technology teams
  • work as key participant in large-scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
  • review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions
  • make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced-level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals
  • take the lead for the issues and drive them to closure.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • university degree in CSE or equivalent
  • application support experience of more than 5 years
  • knowledge and experience in ITIL processes, Unix, scripting, SQL
  • strong analytical skills
  • fluency in English
  • flexible to work in shifts (APAC & UK) on rotational basis
  • demonstrated experience in identifying critical issues and troubleshooting
  • experience in supporting Apache or Weblogic Server or any similar application servers
  • knowledge of IBM MQ Series, Tomcat
  • experience in job scheduling tools like Autosys, Control M, IBM Workload scheduler
  • knowledge of monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, Splunk
  • expertise in automation using any scripting (Shell/Perl/Python)
  • strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle/My SQL) & SQL queries
  • effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • ability to influence various partners and technology teams for quick restoration and ensure application availability.

Nice to have:

  • strong banking domain knowledge
  • experience in automation using any scripting
  • knowledge of monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, Splunk
  • knowledge of IBM MQ Series, Tomcat
  • expertise in ITIL processes (Change, Incident, and Problem Management) for application support.
