Job Description

We are partnering with a well-established Atlanta-based organization to identify a Lead Systems Engineer who will serve as a key technical leader across enterprise infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments and enjoys designing, implementing, and optimizing both on-premise and cloud-based systems. As a senior member of the IT team, you will lead infrastructure initiatives spanning Active Directory, Citrix environments, networking, and Azure cloud services, while acting as the highest escalation point for critical technical issues. Your work will directly impact system reliability, scalability, and overall business continuity.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and deliver scalable infrastructure solutions supporting business-critical applications
  • Define and standardize system and cloud architecture across on-prem and Azure environments
  • Provide advanced technical leadership across Windows Server, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, networking, and endpoint technologies
  • Serve as the final escalation point for complex infrastructure and cloud-related issues
  • Lead administration and optimization of Active Directory, including GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and identity integrations
  • Manage and enhance Citrix application and desktop delivery platforms for performance and reliability
  • Support and administer Azure services, including virtual machines, networking, and connectivity
  • Define and implement Meraki networking configurations and integrations with cloud and virtual environments
  • Oversee system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management across infrastructure platforms
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance, availability, and scalability issues
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to evaluate and implement new technologies
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
  • Lead engineering initiatives and mentor entry level team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop environments
  • 5+ years of experience with Active Directory, including GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and Print Services
  • Strong experience with Windows Server (2012–2022) administration
  • Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS)
  • Solid networking knowledge (Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, F5, or similar)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system and network issues
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across teams
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and prioritization skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in financial services or banking environments
  • Knowledge of enterprise single sign-on (SSO) solutions
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware
  • Background supporting or deploying Office 365
  • Familiarity with legacy systems such as Windows Server 2008 and SQL clustering
