In order to support Air Power Engineering, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Lead System Engineer Eurodrone Flight Management System (d/f/m) to support our Team in the area of unmanned aircraft (UAV). The department 'Flight Management Systems' at Airbus Defence and Space is in charge of system design and development of military and civil Flight Management Systems (FMS) and Flight Guidance functions. This covers manned aircraft and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) like Barracuda, Eurodrone and FCAS Remote Carrier, including automatic/autonomous operations of these unmanned aircraft.
Job Responsibility:
Technical lead of the Eurodrone 'Flight Management and Airspace Integration System (FMAIS)' Design Team
Prepare schedules, resource plans and cost estimations for the FMAIS perimeter
Define Flight Management Systems requirements, architecture and interfaces
Develop FMS functions using model based development tools
Support validation and verification activities
Prepare qualification and certification evidences and defend them in front of authorities
Support preparation of Purchaser Technical Specifications (PTS), perform supplier management
Requirements:
A degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar
A proven record in leading development teams
Strong experience in UAVs, avionics, flight control or similar disciplines
Strong experience in certification and qualification and negotiations with certification authorities
Systems-oriented thinking
Can-do attitude
High degree of motivation and willingness to work in an international team
Language skills: English
Nice to have:
Experience with model based system engineering tools (CAMEO, SCADE) would be a benefit
