Job Description

Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Lead Surgical Technologist to support our Main OR Surgical Services Team in the ENT & Plastics Service Lines at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a Full-time Days position. This position requires call and qualifies for competitive call differentials. A Lead Surgical Technologist in this role will support the ENT and Plastics service lines within the Main Operating Room while serving as a clinical resource and leader for the surgical team. This individual will assist during complex surgical procedures, maintain a sterile field, anticipate surgeon needs, ensure patient safety, and help promote efficient case flow and daily operations within the OR.

Job Responsibility

  • Assisting physicians during ENT and Plastics surgical procedures while anticipating the needs of the surgeon throughout the case
  • Assembling, organizing, and maintaining sterile fields for operative procedures
  • Supporting workflow efficiency, room turnover, and overall coordination within the operating room
  • Serving as a resource and mentor to Surgical Technologists and OR team members within the service line
  • Ensuring proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instrumentation
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
  • Assisting with cleaning, stocking, and preparation of operating rooms and surgical equipment between procedures
  • Maintaining knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and specialty-specific equipment related to ENT and Plastics procedures
