Job Description:

You’ll support adults with learning disabilities and autism across eight individual flats, enabling each person to live life in the way that is most meaningful to them. People you’ll support range in age from 30 to 80 and have a wide variety of interests — from church visits, sensory sessions, shopping trips and zoo outings, to evenings out at local discos. Support is typically delivered on a 1:1 basis, with occasional 2:1, so flexibility is essential. As a Lead Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality, person-centred support. You will lead by example on shift, acting as a positive role model, mentoring colleagues, and helping to embed best practice within the team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinating daily support and ensuring routines, guidelines, care plans and risk assessments are followed
  • Supporting the Locality Manager and Assistant Locality Manager with rota planning, effective deployment of staff, and ensuring appropriate cover
  • Overseeing accurate and timely record-keeping, including support plans, daily notes, finance records and health-related documentation
  • Supporting with incident reporting, safeguarding responsibilities, and contributing to quality assurance processes
  • Helping to induct new colleagues and providing ongoing coaching to encourage skills development and consistency of practice
  • Attending internal and external meetings, advocating for the people we support, and ensuring their voices remain central to all decisions
  • Delivering hands-on support including personal care, supporting with medication administration, promoting independence, enabling community involvement, and helping with meal planning, budgeting and household tasks

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • Confidence using digital systems and maintaining accurate records
  • A calm, solution-focused approach, especially when supporting colleagues or managing challenging situations
  • Good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and some sleep-ins
What we offer:
  • Competitive Pay – Attractive hourly rates and permanent contracts
  • Generous Annual Leave – 30 days (including bank holidays), rising to 35 days with service
  • Pension Scheme – Employer and employee contributions
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – 24/7 confidential wellbeing support for you and your family
  • Health and Wellbeing Benefits – Access to Aviva Health, discounted health cash plans, and salary advance schemes
  • Shopping Discounts – Through Vivup and Blue Light Card for supermarkets, retail, and leisure
  • Career Development – Award-winning Aspire programme and Dimensions Academy for training and progression
  • Additional Perks – Bike-to-work scheme, season ticket loans, holiday buy/sell options, and refer-a-friend bonus (£500)
  • Inclusive Culture – Disability Confident Leader status, reasonable adjustment support, and diversity initiatives
