We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer to lead first-level support operations for enterprise storage, backup, and SAN environments. The role involves managing 24x7 support operations, mentoring team members, and ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of storage and backup systems.
Job Responsibility
Act as Lead for First-Level Support Team (L2/L3 escalation point)
Create, publish, and manage 24x7 staff coverage schedules
Ensure adherence to SLAs, incident response timelines, and operational excellence
Mentor team members and drive process improvements
Manage and troubleshoot backup environments
Configure and support NetBackup and Acronis backup solutions
Perform backup validation, DR testing, and recovery operations
Configure and support enterprise storage systems
Perform LUN provisioning, allocation, and performance tuning
Perform storage capacity planning and monitoring
Manage and configure Brocade SAN switches
Configure and manage NAS storage
Set up and monitor replication and failover mechanisms
Configure storage at OS level (Windows, Linux, VMware ESXi)
VMware support (Datastore provisioning, Storage vMotion)
Monitor and optimize performance across storage arrays, SAN, NAS, and OS
Respond to Data Domain alerts
Perform log collection and analysis
Hardware replacement coordination
Create and manage support tickets with Dell EMC, Pure Storage, IBM
Coordinate for issue resolution, replacements, and escalations
Requirements
8–12 years of experience in Storage, SAN, and Backup Support
