Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer. The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group delivers innovative technology solutions and strategic support for the Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. EFT also provides specialized technology capabilities for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. These platforms and tools are engineered to ensure high levels of stability, security, scalability, and performance. This role is part of a Scrum team within the Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) organization and is responsible for delivering high-quality ServiceNow solutions across complex enterprise environments.
Job Responsibility:
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within the technology domain
Contribute to large-scale strategic planning and technical roadmaps
Design, code, test, debug, and document solutions for enterprise applications, upgrades, and deployments
Analyze and resolve moderately complex technical issues requiring in-depth evaluation
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and act as an escalation point for junior team members
Collaborate and consult with peers, senior engineers, and mid-level managers to address technical challenges and meet project goals
Requirements:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Hands-on ServiceNow development across multiple modules and platform capabilities
Strong understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies
Expertise in core ServiceNow concepts including ACLs, client and server-side scripting, UI policies, and business rules
Experience developing Scripted APIs
Proficiency with Import Sets and Transform Maps
Experience implementing GRC (preferred)
Exposure to Quality Clouds (good to have)
Strong years of experience in application development and implementation experience
Strong years of experience in designing software solutions using established architecture principles
Strong years of experience in hands-on ServiceNow development, implementation, and platform maintenance
Solid experience and knowledge in GRC
Deep functional and technical knowledge of ITAM, IT infrastructure, and Agentless Discovery
Strong understanding of CMDB, horizontal discovery, and service mapping in large and complex enterprise environments (including data center and cloud)
Practical experience with ServiceNow product architecture, MID Server configuration, and security controls
Ability to implement out-of-the-box Discovery solutions for varying enterprise needs
Capability to build and maintain custom patterns, probes, and sensors for specialized discovery requirements
Manage and optimize discovery schedules
Monitor and reconcile discovery/service mapping results, proactively addressing anomalies
Experience working in financial services, preferably with a G-SIB (Global Systemically Important Bank)
Nice to have:
Experience in Change Management, Asset Management, and Configuration Management
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to engage effectively and confidently with senior leadership
Experience guiding or collaborating with offshore teams
Advanced understanding of IT industry frameworks such as ITIL, IT4IT, and COBIT
