Job Description:

Our technology team is evolving fast as we embark on a major digital transformation, making this a truly exciting time to join Select Car Leasing, the UK’s leading car leasing broker. We’re looking for a talented and forward-thinking Lead Software Engineer to help shape the future of our digital platforms as we move towards becoming a fully tech-enabled mobility business. You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering scalable systems, improving our customer experience, and setting the standards for engineering excellence across the business.

Job Responsibility:

Lead the design and development of our website and back-office architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
build and enhance a seamless, self-service customer journey on our digital platforms
develop a robust service layer for system integration and orchestration
establish and maintain coding standards, development processes, and best practices
guide, mentor, and inspire a growing team of engineers
collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into technical solutions

Requirements:

7+ years’ experience in software engineering
at least 2 years in a leadership role
proven experience designing and implementing complex digital platforms
strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, and AWS
experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud architecture
a passion for clean code, scalable systems, and modern engineering practices
strong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud architecture and Ruby on Rails
