Job Description

As a Lead Rigger/Scaffolder at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you'll take the lead in coordinating a small team to safely deliver rigging and scaffolding activities across site operations. This hands-on leadership role combines technical expertise with mentoring and team support, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. This position is based at Pioneer Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region. This position follows a year-round day work roster pattern and may require some weekend work and overtime.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the team – Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the rigging and scaffolding crew to ensure safe and efficient task completion
  • Deliver Rigging & Scaffolding Services – Carry out rigging and scaffolding duties across maintenance and operational activities
  • Manage Scaffold Compliance – Oversee scaffold registers and maintain traceability of equipment, inspections, and training records
  • Coordinate Equipment Maintenance – Lead the process for identifying, tagging, and managing out-of-service equipment for repair or replacement
  • Ensure Equipment Safety – Inspect, maintain, and test rigging equipment, ensuring faults are reported and addressed promptly
  • Support Site Operations – Assist with plant maintenance activities and provide support to tradespeople and production teams as required

Requirements

  • Current High Risk Work Licences in Scaffolding, Rigging, and Dogging
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in an industrial or maintenance environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proactive approach to safety
