Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Retail Investment Research Analyst as part of Global Manager Research in Investment Solutions for Wealth & Investment Management. The role involves performing due diligence and ongoing monitoring on third-party investment products as part of the Systematic Review Team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform initial due diligence and ongoing monitoring on third-party investment products (mutual funds, SMAs, exchange traded funds, etc.) as part of the Systematic Review Team
  • Determine platform eligibility through structured reviews using both qualitative and quantitative criteria
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on multi-step approval processes
  • Ensure thorough documentation of decision rationale
  • Communicate with external money managers regularly
  • Create and deliver presentations to internal audiences and oversight committees
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Systematic Review processes with focus on leveraging advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Retail Investment Research or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of investment and/or operational manager research experience
  • Experience with packaged products including mutual funds, exchange traded products, closed end funds, Unit Investment Trusts, Collective Investment Trusts, and separately managed accounts
  • Advanced financial analytical experience with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience performing qualitative and quantitative analysis, including statistical and performance analytics on investments
  • Experience in money manager research, project management, and applying data analytics to improve research workflows and decision-making processes
  • Experience with Morningstar Direct, FactSet and Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint
  • Strong background in Microsoft Excel VBA, data analytics (e.g. Python)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
