An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research Delivery Team at Great Western Hospital as a Research Delivery Lead. The role will work alongside other Research Delivery Leads, who together are responsible for the day to day management of the research delivery staff within the Research & Innovation Department. The post holder will work on research trials across all specialties, ensuring they maintain a reasonable balance between research delivery and line management responsibilities for the wider workforce. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring robust feasibility is conducted in order to supportNIHR targets for trial delivery and will support robust performance management of the research portfolio in order to maximize opportunities for patients to take part in research across our clinical specialties. This will involve working closely with a range of stakeholders including Principal Investigators, Research Governance staff, and support services to promote collaborative research delivery.
Job Responsibility
Day to day line management of members of the clinical delivery team
Coordinate and contribute to recruitment to clinical trials
Ensure full feasibility assessment is conducted for all trials
Work with staff across the Trust to develop strategies to overcome barriers to recruitment
Provide support, encouragement and motivation to research professionals
Plan and organize daily study tasks
Work with the Research Manager and Head of Service to support performance against NIHR and Trust targets for patient recruitment into clinical trials
Promote quality research and develop and implement operational policy
Ensure that research is conducted within ICH-GCP and the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research
Requirements
Masters degree (or degree level with equivalent level of acquired knowledge and skills)
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate
Demonstrable knowledge of the Research Governance Framework (evidenced through practice/experience)
In Depth Knowledge of Clinical Trials and Research Governance
Experience of Line Managing a Team or Managerial Experience
Experience of Autonomous Practice
