Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Regulatory Relations Lead Regulatory Relations Specialist in the Corporate Risk Regulatory Relations Team responsible for leading end-to-end regulatory engagements for Corporate Risk, including examinations, supervisory meetings, information requests, and responses to regulatory findings. This role synthesizes regulatory feedback across the enterprise and advises senior leadership on regulatory strategy to drive consistency and efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and advise on complex and broadly impactful regulatory relations strategy, governance, communications, and interactions, including those that are cross functional, large-scale, or which may include multiple regulatory agencies
  • review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term regulatory approaches and engagements that require in-depth evaluation of multiples factors, including technical challenges, intangibles, or unprecedented factors
  • make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, regulations, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level to senior managers to resolve issues and achieve goals, integrating approach for matters which cross functions or regulatory agencies
  • lead projects, virtual teams, and serve as a peer mentor to ensure appropriate preparation, accountability, and consistent delivery on regulatory commitments, execution of regulatory relations policy and procedures, or other initiatives
  • represent regulatory relations, in concert with business partners, before regulatory agencies on policy matters, responses, commitments, needs, and approach in adherence to policy and procedure
  • research and assess internal and external regulatory environment to identify and report on themes, emerging trends, and risks, sharing insights with team and leadership to resolve concerns
  • work with partners to aggregate and report on regulatory actions for key stakeholders including executive leadership, the board of directors, and regulators to ensure consistency with strategy and approach

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Regulatory Relations or Risk Management, includes Regulatory Relations, Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, IT Systems Security, Business Process Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • experience managing response process for federal regulatory examinations across a broad range of regulatory subject matters, stakeholders and risk types
  • superior verbal and written communication skills with exceptional ability to negotiate and facilitate collaboration at all levels of a highly complex and matrixed organization
  • ability to communicate understanding across key stakeholders to drive efficient and concise execution of regulatory engagements
  • ability to thrive in a highly matrixed organization and build cross functional relationships
