Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Lead Quest Designer to join the development of a new IP. As a member of the Content department, you will manage and guide Quest Designers, driving the successful delivery of fun and memorable quest experiences. You will be responsible for aligning execution with project goals, quality standards, and production timelines while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment. As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better, with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration. Job Responsibility:
Leading and managing the Quest Design team to meet project objectives, quality standards, and production milestones
Setting clear goals and performance expectations aligned with the broader project vision
Collaborating with the quest, narrative, level design teams and other departments in crafting a cohesive experience for the game’s locations, characters, content, and plots
Acting as the primary point of contact for Quest Design within the project, communicating status, risks, and needs for senior leadership
Collaborating with our Quest and Narrative Designers and Engineers to further develop the pipelines and processes of the Quest Design team
Designing and implementing functional quests and becoming proficient in using our tools
Help express the story's vision via excellent exploration, dialogue, gameplay, and activities
Providing constructive feedback on others’ work
Acting as a liaison to other departments, conveying the consistent design vision of the project
Providing regular feedback, coaching, and performance management for quest designers
Requirements:
Proven experience as a professional Game Designer, with significant quest design experience and at least one shipped title in a senior or lead capacity
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, set priorities, and deliver against defined production timelines
Experience with technical game design (implementation in tools, game logic, visual scripting, etc.)
Ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team and comfortable with self-critique and accepting outside feedback
Creative problem-solving skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Experience pitching game design concepts in a clear, detailed manner, through strong written and verbal skills
Strong organizational skills and a proven track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback and support team growth and development
Nice to have:
Industry recognition or demonstrated impact in your field
Having made your own game as a side or indie project
Experience in adjacent fields such as content design, narrative design, environment art, programming, etc.
Experience playing and/or crafting pen and paper, board, or trading card games
