Job Description

A high-end residential developer is seeking an experienced Lead Quantity Surveyor to join their South London team. The Lead Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in delivering structured quantity surveying services across super-prime residential developments, ensuring strong commercial oversight and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets and feasibility studies
  • Leading tender documentation and contract preparation
  • Managing subcontract procurement and commercial negotiations
  • Monitoring valuations, variations and change control
  • Leading risk management and value engineering processes
  • Overseeing interim valuations and final account agreements
  • Producing financial and progress reports for senior management
  • Managing and mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors

Requirements

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Proven experience working as a Lead Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS within residential construction
  • Experience delivering high-end or super-prime residential projects desirable
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts
  • Experience managing projects through the full development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • MRICS desirable or working towards
