Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing visual and precision instrument inspection of manufactured parts for dimensional and GD&T. Specialized inspections using CMM, Portable arm, Portable Scanner, for compliance with drawing requirements. In performing your work, you will interact with multiple internal departments including Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Accounting, and Shipping/Receiving. You may also work with external contractors. Daily workflow is assigned by the Quality Supervisor and/or based on project demands.
Job Responsibility:
Performing visual, mechanical inspection of purchased or manufactured parts, in process or finished, to determine if the parts conform to specifications, drawings, designated codes and standards
Using precision measuring and testing equipment, including calipers, height gage, micrometre’s, surface plate, Articulated ARM, Optical Comparator to perform mechanical inspections
Preparing a Non-Conformance Report (NCR) for any part that does not meet specified requirements and processing it per established procedures
Document nonconformances in SAP- NCR module where needed and complete the transactions in SAP
Review and verification of materials received from vendors
Witnessing internal testing procedures to verify accuracy of results
Interpreting and executing an Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
Interfacing with third-party inspectors to verify completion of required customer requests
Handling other assigned work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by your immediate supervisor
Provide on-the-job training and guidance to Level I inspection personnel
Requirements:
NACE Level II Coatings required
Supervisory experience required
Experienced in use of precision inspection equipment (ex., mics, callipers. Etc) to measure dimensional details as listed on drawings
Knowledge in reading & interpret blueprints, including GD&T
Experience in using and programming of Articulated ARMs is required
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques, test equipment and procedures, and assembly applications
Use of hand and power tools
Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with SAP (Required)
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast-paced and demanding
Strict attention to detail

A high school diploma or GED equivalent
3-5 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
Nice to have:
Experience in using and programming of CMM, Keyence, or Quick Vision systems is preferred
Knowledge of the valve industry is highly preferred
Certification in Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, or CWI (Preferred)
