Job Description

Vestas is seeking an experienced Lead Purchasing Manager to join our highly skilled Construction Procurement team in Melbourne. This role will oversee the sourcing and commercial delivery of lifting installation scopes, playing a critical role in the successful execution of wind farm projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will bring energy, ownership and commercial sharpness to an already high-performing team, operating at the forefront of the renewable energy transition.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead procurement of crane and installation scopes across multiple projects, from tender phase through to contract award
  • Partner closely with Sales teams during tenders to shape competitive and executable project solutions
  • Liaise with Civil, Electrical, and Transport teams to ensure alignment across all work packages and interfaces
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost models, and commercial evaluations
  • Evaluate supplier submissions across commercial, technical, and legal dimensions
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract closure, working closely with Legal and Contracts Management teams
  • Build strong, long-term supplier relationships to ensure capacity, capability, and competitiveness
  • Drive risk identification and mitigation strategies, particularly for large-scale installation activities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for crane and installation markets in ANZ
  • Ensure delivery against key metrics: safety, quality, cost, and schedule

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Law, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years’ experience in procurement, commercial management, or project management, ideally within construction, infrastructure, or energy
  • Experience with large-scale industrial equipment, cranes, or installation scopes highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience working across tendering and project delivery environments
