Job Description

The Proposal Engineer will work directly with engineering teams to develop engineering inputs to a diverse team responsible for the development of new plant engineering proposals, early works agreements and new product developments. In this position the Proposal Engineer will drive timely decision making of technical issues related to the application of our standard plant on different opportunities, proposal technical write-ups, engineering estimates and schedule development. The Proposal Engineer will coordinate, expedite, and close open issues/concern and be responsible to ensure on-time and budget delivery of early works projects and new product developments.

Job Responsibility

  • Report solid line to the Proposal Engineering manager
  • Support GVH programs and initiatives, process development and documentation, process improvement and simplification
  • Partner with business teams to develop and present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leads across GVH
  • Accountable for on-time delivery of design products within budget
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering teams, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders
  • Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues
  • Work with Advanced Application and functional engineering teams to build estimates, schedules, manage change orders and responses to Corrective Actions
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces and drive timely resolution of technical project issues with multiple engineering disciplines, business project and product management, partners, subcontractors, and customers
  • Support the planning, organization, and management of the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables
  • Support the management of external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions
  • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH
  • Ensure adherence to GVH's standards for nuclear safety and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related Science or technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using computer applications. Experience in word processing, presentation packages, databases, and spreadsheet packages. Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • familiarity with Adobe software to be able to create/modify PDF files.

Nice to have

  • At least 2 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power or oil and gas industries
  • Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations
