Within the Marine Services business unit, projects evolve around floating/moored structures, such as FPSO’s, FPU’s, TLP’s or SPAR’s as applied in O&G as well as the typical floaters in Floating Wind. You can make your mark as a Lead Project Engineer at Boskalis Marine Services by being the linking pin between project preparation and executing these very large projects. Using your expertise and experience in maritime projects, you will direct and manage the technical part of the project team on various aspects. You will be responsible for the working methods and work preparation, you’ll manage aspects like safety, planning, procurement, permits and maintain contacts with clients, subcontractors and local authorities, to ensure that high-quality projects can be realized within the agreed requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Translating project planning and engineering into detailed planning and working methods, so that the project can be realized efficiently and effectively in accordance with the contractual agreements (safety, quality, planning and budget)
Liaise with all involved departments (project- and tender-support, operations, SHE-Q, fleet-management, procurement, cost control) to ensure that the right working methods have been selected and that manpower and equipment are available when needed
Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans
Act as the key interface towards clients for all engineering related topics
Identify and report deviations from the contract and take appropriate measures when needed
Assist the Project Manager in issuing progress reports to the customer and provide input to the Project Manager for internal progress reports.
Requirements:
At least 10 years of relevant working experience in an international, dynamic project environment
Leading offshore multi-disciplinary project teams in floating/moored structures projects in the O&G or wind industry
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, preferably in offshore/marine technology, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or naval architecture
A team player mentality
Willingness to travel globally and go offshore on one of our vessels during project execution
Planning and organizing of the project and working methods by delegating tasks with matching responsibilities
