The Atlassian Marketplace team builds the ecosystem that enables thousands of partners and millions of users to extend, customize, and get more value out of Atlassian products. As the hub of Atlassian’s app ecosystem, the Marketplace is central to our customers’ success and Atlassian’s long-term strategy. We design experiences that help customers discover, evaluate, and adopt apps seamlessly, while empowering partners with tools and insights to grow their businesses. Our strategy focuses on leveraging AI to enhance the marketplace experience, helping customers find and evaluate apps more intelligently and efficiently. We are also at the forefront of supporting a new wave of AI-powered apps, enabling partners to innovate and deliver next-generation solutions to our customers. You’ll be joining a multi-disciplinary team of designers, product managers, and engineers who deeply value collaboration, craft, and experimentation. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping how millions of Atlassian customers extend their workflows and how thousands of partners grow their businesses. As a Lead Product Designer, you’ll work on a highly visible product area and have a direct impact on Atlassian’s ecosystem strategy, while working with a passionate, supportive, and world-class team.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end design for Marketplace initiatives: from strategy and discovery to detailed execution, ensuring world-class design from framing the problem to delivery
  • Frame and simplify complex problems, balancing customer, partner, and business needs
  • Mentor designers across the team, providing coaching, critique, and guidance
  • Evolve and scale design systems across Marketplace and its touchpoints
  • Partner across Atlassian, aligning Marketplace with broader ecosystem, platform, and growth priorities
  • Advocate for customers and partners, leveraging data, research, and experimentation
  • Champion AI-driven design: Integrate AI into design workflows (e.g., prototyping with tools like Replit) and ensure an AI-first mindset in all Marketplace experiences

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio of shipped work
  • Proven ability to lead design for complex, multi-surface products
  • Experience in ecosystem, marketplace, or platform products is highly valued
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills, with experience driving outcomes across teams and levels
  • Mastery of interaction, visual, and systems design, and comfort working within and evolving design systems
  • A mentorship mindset, with a track record of helping other designers grow
