Job Description

The Lead Product Designer will play a crucial role in shaping e-commerce experiences by collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position requires a strong product mindset and a focus on iterative delivery, experimentation, and measurable improvements. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in product design, particularly in e-commerce, and will be responsible for leading design initiatives, mentoring other designers, and contributing to design systems.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the design of end-to-end e-commerce journeys across web and mobile
  • Shape product direction in partnership with Product Managers and business stakeholders
  • Translate commercial goals into intuitive, high-performing experiences
  • Use research, insight and analytics to inform design decisions
  • Prototype and test ideas quickly to validate assumptions
  • Contribute to and evolve design systems for scalability and consistency
  • Support and mentor other designers within the team
  • Facilitate workshops and alignment sessions with clients and internal teams
  • Own the quality and coherence of the customer experience across your product area
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape and prioritise the roadmap

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in product design, with strong experience in e-commerce
  • Proven experience working within agile, cross-functional squads
  • Strong partnership with Product Owners and Product Managers on backlog shaping and prioritisation
  • A track record of delivering measurable product improvements
  • Excellent UX and interaction design fundamentals
  • Strong visual design skills and attention to detail
  • Confident prototyping skills using tools such as Figma
  • Experience using data and customer insight to inform decisions
  • Solid understanding of core e-commerce journeys including search, browse, product detail and checkout
  • Experience contributing to or leading design systems

Nice to have

  • Experience working within consultancy or multi-client environments
  • Exposure to international or multi-market e-commerce platforms
  • Experience with service design or end-to-end customer journey mapping
