Job Description

As a Lead Electrical, Grid & EBoP you will be working along the Regional Power Plant Solutions (PPS) technical function team. The role will encompass technical and stakeholder management from presales all the way to service on multiple projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Review of Balance of Plant (BoP) design, drawing, and document submissions from subcontractors against industry best practice, law, international, and local standards, in addition to Vestas' contractual and interfacing requirements from the perspective of grid connection
  • Support power system studies to define the wind farm generator performance standards and to develop the wind farm control system functional design specification and reactive plant requirements
  • Coordinate activities with the grid modeling department
  • Simulation and modeling of the wind Power Plant including WTG, PV, and storage
  • Research and prepare formal responses to inquiries regarding wind farm technical performance
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers
  • Ensure grid connection deliverables required to be submitted by Vestas are provided in a timely, safe and high-quality manner
  • Assessing the performance, efficiency, and reliability of the balance of plant systems specific to renewable energy projects
  • Identifying and resolving issues and inefficiencies within the balance of plant systems
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure grid connection issues are resolved promptly
  • Engage and manage consultants when required
  • Attend and provide input to various safety, design, technical, and risk meetings, workshops, and reviews
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and document all grid connection activities, milestones, and outcomes
  • Review grid connection documents

Requirements

  • Electrical engineering (power systems knowledge) with a minimum of 3-4 years' experience
  • Registered or Certified Professional Engineer (RPEng or CPEng) preferred
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Experience in working together with international stakeholders
  • Must have experience with PSCAD, PSSe, and/or Powerfactory
  • Experience in the electricity generation sector
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively
  • Experience in wind and or other renewable industries is preferred
