Job Description:

Lead consultant specializing in Power BI with a focus on data. Must have advanced knowledge of Power BI and its data components including Power Query/M, DAX, and dimensional modeling, with knowledge in basic report design. Working knowledge of conventional SQL Server (data warehouse design, SSIS and SSRS) and DirectQuery is helpful. Must understand Power BI License models and work with customers to achieve optimal licensing. Must have experience using Databricks platform to develop, implement, and optimize data pipelines. Strong communication skills required for client interaction.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct customer discovery meetings to determine reporting requirements
Understand and work with customer on Power BI Licensing
Create well performing star schema data models for use with Power BI
Creating Power BI solutions for customers including importing data, building reports and dashboards
Guide customers on deploying Power BI solutions to the Power BI service (Gateways, DirectQuery, DataFlows, Data Updates)

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer, engineering, data science or a related field
or equivalent work experience
Experience managing / leading a team
8+ years working with data and business intelligence solutions on the Microsoft tool stack for Business Intelligence (SSRS, Power BI, PowerPivot, PerformancePoint) or other vendor BI tools (Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, SAP)
Working knowledge of TSQL, data modeling, reporting using Power BI or other Microsoft tools
Experience creating complete Power BI report solutions with linked content, drilldowns, and nested parameters
Dynamic measure designs using advanced DAX techniques
Knowledge of data mashups and transformations using Power Query/M language
Utilize Databricks platform to develop, implement, and optimize data pipelines and workflows
Ability to report visual choices and visual interactions
Design, develop and implement user interfaces
Ability to gather requirements and conduct focus groups

Nice to have:

Power BI tenant and workspace management
Experience with analytics and custom visualizations for Power BI using Python, R
Advanced SQL including some query tuning
Experience in the identification of data quality
Experience deploying Power BI solutions to the Power BI Report Server (on-premises)
Experience deploying Power BI solutions using Power BI Embedded
Deploying cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure data services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL DB
