Job Description

Fern, is a lively up and coming service where we support 6 amazing gentlemen with a variation of needs and support. Fern is a registered care service providing accommodation for individuals on the autistic spectrum and with complex behaviours. This two-storey house has an open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen area that aims to provide a calming and relaxing atmosphere. All six bedrooms are on the first floor, together with two bathrooms. Fern has a conservatory which leads onto a spacious outside decking area with stunning views of the rural surrounds. There is an outdoor seating area where residents can relax. The house is within walking distance to Pembury High Street where there are shops, a post-office and a bus service with links to the nearby towns of Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge. The Tunbridge Wells Hospital is less than a mile away.

Job Responsibility

Support people with complex and challenging behaviours using an approach based on the principles of improving quality of life, being person centred, and using behaviour analytic strategies

Requirements

  • L3 qualification in either Positive Behaviour Support or in Health and Social Care, or equivalent (and willingness to work towards further Positive Behaviour Support Qualifications)
  • Understanding of PBS, PBS Frameworks and willingness to work towards a relevant qualification
  • Previous experience supporting those with challenging behaviour and a key interest/ passion to progress in this type of role
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to follow and contribute towards good procedural practices
  • Ability to undertake tasks unsupervised and under own initiative
  • A professional caring attitude with emotional intelligence and resilience
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and to work with others to achieve common goals consistently
