Job Description:

The Lead Pharmacy Technician coordinates the provision and maintenance of high-quality, efficient and innovative pharmacy services within their portfolio. The role also supports Austin Health in delivering strategies and goals to meet organisational needs. You will drive the technical quality and training required for hospital pharmacy production, standardising services that support cytotoxic, hazardous, and non-hazardous sterile and non-sterile compounding, inclusive of innovative clinical trials preparations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinates the provision and maintenance of high-quality, efficient and innovative pharmacy services within their portfolio
  • Supports Austin Health in delivering strategies and goals to meet organisational needs
  • Drives the technical quality and training required for hospital pharmacy production
  • Standardising services that support cytotoxic, hazardous, and non-hazardous sterile and non-sterile compounding, inclusive of innovative clinical trials preparations

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician and demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience, knowledge and understanding of hospital pharmacy production services
  • Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience, including financial, human resource and workforce skills
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation, team building and conflict resolution skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of all relevant aspects of hospital pharmacy services, inclusive of production services
