Job Description:

As a Lead Payroll Analyst, you will oversee the India payroll function, process payrolls across multiple regions, ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, and drive process improvements. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and other teams to enhance payroll processes and employee experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the India payroll function, working closely with existing payroll processor on the team
  • Hands-on payroll processing for 1 or more other payrolls in APAC and EMEA, as needed
  • Critical team member in helping ensure efficient end-to-end processes for the entire employee hire through termination lifecycle as it relates to payroll
  • Drive process improvement and deliver scalable processes
  • Ensure audit controls are strictly followed and identify any gaps
  • Liaise with internal teams and external vendors as the payroll SME
  • Respond to employees/internal queries
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, social security payments, and other required government contributions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement process improvements to streamline payroll processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience
  • Monitor and manage payroll-related expenses, including reviewing and reconciling monthly payroll reports and addressing discrepancies as needed
  • Work with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to support various payroll-related initiatives, including new market expansion, year-end payroll reconciliations, tax reporting, and other audits
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and requirements in India, and adjust processes accordingly
  • Support and/or lead various payroll projects
  • Assist in payroll systems deployment.

Requirements:

  • 10 years+ payroll experience, including global payrolls
  • Extensive payroll experience with large and complex payrolls
  • Strong knowledge in Global Payroll laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Critical thinker and strong problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational, people & time management skills
  • Proven track record in delivering small to large payroll projects
  • Some experience with payroll system implementations - either in-house or outsourced
  • Applicant should be tech-savvy
  • Workday and Jira experience a plus ideal.
