Under supervision of Building Operations Superintendent, serves as work leader for the Paint Shop team. Works independently or with a crew. Inspects work areas, analyzes and determines required materials, and prepares the area including but not limited to securing and removing fixtures. Performs journey level painting procedures using brush, roller, conventional and airless paint spraying equipment in connection with the maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and equipment following EPA codes and regulations. Repairs stucco, lath and plaster, drywall, wooden surfaces. Provide trade assistance to others within the division.

  • Experience using standard computer systems and applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), electronic mail and web based applications
  • Demonstrates competency, commitment, and ability to model and advocate UCSD Principles of Community
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively direct assigned personnel to work individually or in teams
  • Ability to establish, lead, and maintain positive and cooperative working relations with people of many diverse backgrounds
