An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Lead Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist to support the continuing development of the children's diabetes service at the Great Western Hospital. The postholder will act as an autonomous practitioner, supporting children and families across hospital and community settings.
Job Responsibility:
Provide operational and strategic leadership for the paediatric diabetes nursing service
Collaborate closely with the clinical lead and multidisciplinary children's diabetes team
Ensure provision of effective care and development of the service
Enable children and young people with diabetes to achieve the best possible quality of life, health and wellbeing
Deliver a comprehensive specialist clinical, advisory, and educational service across hospital and community settings
Take a lead role in advancing clinical practice, integrating technology, and contributing to research and audit activities
Requirements:
RN (Child) with significant post registration experience
Relevant nursing Degree
Master's level qualification or equivalent study
Teaching/assessment qualification
Experience working as a Band 6 Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist
Post registration qualification in paediatric diabetes
Experience in delivering education programs to families and professional groups
Experience working within multidisciplinary and multiagency teams
Attendance at case conferences, Core Groups and Child in Need meetings
Organisational skills and experience managing a caseload
