Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Operational Risk Officer to develop, implement, and monitor risk-based programs to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or external events.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor risk-based programs to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risk
  • Maintain balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency
  • Evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls
  • Analyze complex business and system changes to determine impact and identify operational risk issues
  • Provide operational risk expertise and consulting to complex business units
  • Design and develop complex testing strategies, methodologies and analyses
  • Consult with business to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change
  • Identify training opportunities
  • Design and coordinate development of training materials
  • Report findings and develop business cases to influence executive management
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues
  • Lead project or virtual teams and mentor less experienced staff

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Operational Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions, and drive for resolutions
  • Ability to form a story through data analysis
  • Ability to effectively assess stakeholder, partner, or client needs while consulting, building solutions, and developing processes
  • Experience coordinating multiple tasks within aggressive time frames
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Ability to lead during times of ambiguity and change
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
