Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Middle Market Group is seeking a Lead Mid-Corporate Relationship Manager for our Sponsors group. Middle Market Banking provides comprehensive financial services to commercial customers primarily with annual sales from $25 million to $2 billion. The Sponsors group aligns dedicated coverage and credit teams with private equity sponsors and certain family offices within Commercial Banking. Sponsor Coverage RMs are the single point of contact for sponsors, coordinating across all Wells Fargo business groups and within Commercial Banking.
Job Responsibility:
Support leadership and senior relationship managers in all aspects of the business, including but not limited to client management, industry research, capital structure, financial modeling, CB and CIB partnership, and database management
Provide periodic guidance to junior associate supporting the broader sponsors team
Independently develop, retain, and grow complex client relationships
Lead or participate in the structuring, modification, and renewal of complex capital markets transactions, and certain other industry specific solutions within Commercial Banking
Prepare screening memos to be shared with senior partners around capital markets related transactions
Review, understand, and offer the full suite of complex solutions offered by Wells Fargo to commercial and investment banking clients
Independently lead or resolve moderately complex initiatives and guide team to meet deliverables within the Commercial Banking Relationship Management group
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve client issues
Drive relationship planning activities to deliver the full suite of solutions and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines
Support Business Development Representatives in sourcing new Commercial Banking clients
Partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide feedback on client and market needs.
Requirements:
5+ years of Mid-Corporate Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of core commercial banking and investment products: deposits, commercial credit, and treasury
Completion of formal credit training program
Successfully completed FINRA Series 63 and Series 79 exam to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
Experience with underwriting complex credit and debt structure
Foundational ability to interpret financial statements, summarize findings and structure credit transactions
Experience working with financial modeling
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Demonstrated high level of initiative and accountability
Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal partners
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related business degree
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position
Obtaining FINRA Series 63 and Series 79, or equivalent must be completed within 180-days of date of hire if not immediately available to transfer upon hire
